Title of Post:    Assistant Headteacher – Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare

Salary Grade:   L11-15

Start Date:       September 2017

You will be an outstanding teacher, well qualified for the post as a leader with a proven track record of significantly improving student achievement and progress as well as experience leading successful teams. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Specific responsibilities include leading the pastoral team, behaviour, safeguarding, child protection and student welfare across the school.

Fearnhill is a very successful learning community and in 2016 was rated 9th out of Hertfordshire’s 76 secondary schools in terms of its ‘Progress 8’ score of +0.49. Ofsted recognised in June 2015 that “Attitudes to learning are positive. Students interact well with their teachers and the quality of relationships in the classroom is an important factor in the increased rate of academic progress seen across the school.”

Title of Post:                                      Data and Exams Manager

Salary Grade and hours:              H8 £22,424 – £24,613 per annum

                                                          37 hours per week, term time only plus 2 weeks

 Start Date:                                         As soon as possible

Fearnhill School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, positive and well organised colleague to join our data team. 

You will be responsible for the organisation and management of whole school assessment data and the running of both internal and external examinations.  You will have an assistant who will support you with this. You will be responsible for: managing the process for collecting assessment data; compiling a thorough and accurate analysis of exam results and assessment data, including the use of data analysis websites; you will contribute to the design of the school’s assessment strategy; organise both internal and external examinations; manage data submissions to external customers and line manage the data and exams assistant and a team of invigilators.

We will expect the successful applicant to be well organised; methodical; pay good attention to detail; be competent in using Excel; to have the ability to understand and present data and be able to work to deadlines.  Experience of SIMS would be advantageous but is not essential.

This is an essential role for the school and an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate. Previous school experience is not essential as training will be provided.
