YEAR 10 & 11
We follow Eduqas GCSE Drama. This course gives students the opportunity to explore plays, theatre styles, themes and issues in a highly creative and practical way. Emphasis is placed on team work and learning through experience. Students are assessed in practical activities and they also complete written course work. There are two performance exams and one written exam during Year 11.
YEAR 12 & 13
The AQA A level course in Drama and Theatre Studies is available for students wishing to continue drama beyond GCSE. Performances seen in the course have consisted of The Crucible, Grim Tales, A Light Shining on Buckinghamshire and Oh What a Lovely War. A level students also produce original devised pieces about specific themes that are set as stimulus by their teacher. By choosing drama at A level students are sure to develop the host of ‘Key Skills’ that employers and universities are looking for in a successful applicant.
