World book day
A huge thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate World Book Day (WBD) and support Fearnhill School’s commitment to reading for pleasure. Here is a roundup of events.
We had some great entries for our extreme reading competition and the winner is….Madison (7R) for showing us that some books just cannot be put down. Even if you busy doing a back flip on the trampoline in the back garden.
Form tutors held a WBD mega quiz during extended registration form time, a grilling 30 questions about books past and present. The winning team declared was “Team Hufflepuff’ which consisted of Y10s Trinity Wood, Rui Martin and Harry Faul and Erin Salisbury pictured here celebrating their win. They scored a whopping 26 correct answers out of 30.
Students were asked to bring some of their much loved books to swap with other students to share the joy. Here are Y7 students Aimee, Shaneila and Alisha with their lucky finds.
Students in the Art department kicked off WBD celebrations by beginning work on 3 huge canvasses for the Library.
The brief is iconic book covers…what do you think the students will come up with???
We’ll report back here as work progresses.
Students should have received their £1 book tokens from their form tutor but if you missed out, see myself or Mrs Middleton for a spare. These are the books you can exchange the tokens for or you can put the £1 off voucher towards a book of your choice.
Happy World Book Day!
