It was great to see so many parents and students here for the Year 11 Post 16 Information Evening recently. . Hopefully they will now be on the way to developing a clear picture of what they want to do post-GCSEs and the information evening helped  them firm up their decisions. In the meantime I am sure they will all spend the next few months revising hard for their exams. Please remember that we do have the Academic Review Day for all Year 11 on Friday 3rd February.
Congratulations to our Sixth Form Drama students who staged a very professional and powerful performance for their A level practical exam. The theme they took was a very challenging one but the maturity they displayed in performing it was very impressive.
I would particularly draw parents’ attention to the information on holidays during term-time. We seem to be receiving an increasing number of these requests and I need to reiterate that they are not a good idea. Students often struggle to catch up the work missed and this can seriously affect their academic progress. Where such a request is unavoidable, please make sure that forms are completed in plenty of time. A few days’ notice is not enough to process and authorise an absence
I do hope you enjoy reading about our school in this edition
